  • Vocational Qualifications Development and Maintenance (currently GCF and Advanced GCF Modules)
  • Framing Standards development and oversight
  • Framing Materials specifications
  • Framing Skills and Knowledge Training
  • Professional Framer recruitment and retention – benefits, needs, interests etc.

 

Fine Art Trade Guild Retail and Marketing Committee

 

This Committee is currently dormant, its functions taken on by Guild staff pending re-establishment.

Its responsibilities cover:

  • Art & Framing For You issues, as per the AFFY strategy document – gaining Consumer Awareness of Guild, its members and qualified practitioners, and the art and framing industry in general
  • Retailer Training, Business Training
  • Gallery recruitment and retention – benefits, needs, interests, etc.
 

Contemporary Art Dealer Committee

 

This Committee is currently dormant

Its remit is to attract and retain Contemporary Art Dealers, strengthening services for this sub-sector

The Fine Art Committee’s remit is to attract and retain artist members, strengthening services for this sub-sector and educating artists to be better at business. Guild staff have been instrumental in developing many initiatives to fulfil this remit, including Annabelle Ruston’s book, co-published with A&C Black, ‘An Artist’s Guide to Selling Work’.

 

 

 

Printers and Publishers Committee

 

This Committee is currently dormant.

Printers and Publishers Committee remit:

  • Print Standards development and oversight
  • Print Stamping Programme development
  • Publisher Recruitment and Retention
  • Printer Recruitment and Retention
  • Copyright issues

Although the committee was dormant, in 2008, the Guild Managing Director drew together experts from across the art industry to consider a definition for the term Original Print. Attendees were:
