The Master of the Guild
The Master of the Guild is Maxwell Roberts. Maxwell is a gallery owner as well as acting as an artists' agent, photographer and publisher.
Maxwell Roberts was elected on 24 March 2010.
Fine Art Trade Guild Members elect the Master of the Guild annually. The maximum continuous term of office is two years.
Previous Masters have included numerous heads of art publishing houses as well as key people running framing businesses and art galleries.
The first woman elected Master of the Guild was Edith Frost 1956 - 1957. Ms Frost presented the Guild with the Master's gavel which is still in use at Executive and Court meetings today.
Groundbreaking entrepreneur behind the School Prints initiative, Brenda Rawnsley, served as Master of the Guild from 1961 - 1962
